Your opportunity:

As an Electrical Technician II with our Automation Team, you will design, program, assemble, and install electrical controls used in machines and tooling systems throughout the company to minimize machine down-time and maximize operating efficiency. You will support the Automation and Controls team with their projects, as well as providing post machine installation troubleshooting and support.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build and wire electrical panels
  • Create electrical schematics and electrical cabinet layout using AutoCAD electrical
  • Order parts for projects using Ariba Purchasing system
  • Wire external machine components to electrical cabinet
  • Use manufacturer's software to develop BOMs
  • Work with IT Application developers with program integrations
  • Travel to Greenheck facilities to install machines and train maintenance and manufacturing personnel
  • Support automation and controls technicians with their projects
  • Provide parts lists with standard components used
  • Research safety devices appropriate for their application
  • Provide programming assistance
  • Develop electrical parts list for the project
  • Write PLC-HMI program using various software packages
  • Typical programs would be low complexity machine control to medium complexity machine control
  • Design low to medium complexity machine guarding strategies that comply with OSHA and ANSI standards, to ensure the safety of our Greenheck teammates
  • Power up, troubleshoot, and commission machine to make production ready
  • Integrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems into the machine electrical control system
  • Post machine installation troubleshooting and support

What you should have:

  • Required 3-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Required 2 Year/Associate Degree in Electromechanical Technology or Automation Engineering Technology.
  • Project Management
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy
  • Proficient to reading electrical schematics
  • Proficiency with a drafting software is required; AutoCAD Electrical is preferred
  • Programmable logic controller (PLC) advanced training is required

The following areas of training will be required in the role; previous completion of any trainings is preferred:

  • Basic motion programming
  • OSHA 1910 and NFPA 70E safety training
  • Industrial control safety standards
  • National electrical code basic knowledge
  • Demonstrates deductive reasoning when troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions in a variety of formats (instruction manuals, electrical schematics, written, or verbal instructions)

A few things we think you should know:

  • This role is first shift hours - Monday - Friday
  • Some travel may be required for the role 10 to 25% at most
  • Will work in a brand-new automation facility
