We are currently hiring a Medical Director - Acute Services. This is a full-time position that does not require working late nights, weekends, or holidays.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director of Acute Services oversees clinical quality and operational outcomes for urgent care and walk-in services at Progressive Community Health Centers (PCHC). This role is responsible for provider oversight, advancing programming, contributing to budget discussions, focusing on service and improving quality/disparities. The Medical Director is also an active clinician responsible for providing and ensuring the provision of applicable medical services.


Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care in an applicable medical specialty.
  • Oversees clinical quality by ensuring excellent person-centered care, achievement of clinical outcomes, and high ratings in patient satisfaction.
  • Assures collaboration within the department as well as across all service lines to meet the needs of the patient.
  • Develops strategies and protocols to ensure successful implementation and performance related to patient care and coordination.
  • Recruits, interviews and prepares recommendations for hiring the provider staff.
  • Supervises and maintains excellent provider relationships.
  • Manages and resolves clinical personnel issues, including coaching, counseling and disciplining of providers.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations for provider staff; recommends and participates in final determination of disciplinary actions and terminations as appropriate.
  • Leads and motivates a high-performing team.
  • Furthers a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing training and development of all staff.
  • Actively directs provider meetings and works collaboratively with operational leadership.
  • Develops and implements programs or pathways that integrate patients into other PCHC clinical services.
  • Reviews and approves time off; manages Isolved requests and payroll acknowledgement.
  • Assists in the development of the budget and adheres to approved budget.
  • Actively participates in internal and external committees as appropriate.
  • Supports, communicates, and works within the scope of PCHC's Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Helps others and personally responds well to change.
  • Sets and meets well articulated individual and team expectations of high performance.
  • Assists in the development of and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Positively represents PCHC in the community.
  • Completes special projects/duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. Doctoral degree (MD or DO) from an accredited university with completion of residency programming
  2. Board certified in Medical Specialty
  3. Current Wisconsin licensure and DEA license

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior experience with urgent care/walk-in program development and creation of clinical pathways to promote whole person health within a multispecialty environment
  2. Five to ten years of clinical experience including ambulatory care
  3. Three to five year of leadership experience
  4. Prior work experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center with a diverse patient population
