Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a civil engineer. This role can sit in our Madison, WI; Green Bay, WI; La Crosse, WI; Eau Claire, WI; or Milwaukee, WI office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform rural and urban highway design including geometric layout, drainage design, corridor modeling, quantity computation and cost estimates
  • Prepare design reports
  • Prepare preliminary and final plans of roadways, intersections, interchanges and/or roundabouts working under the guidance of a senior engineer
  • Perform construction inspection on highway and bridge projects working under the guidance of a project construction leader
  • May work with aviation team assisting with the design or construction inspection of related projects
  • A valid drivers license and some travel will be required

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or similar discipline from an accredited four-year college AND a minimum of four years of experience.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • PE license in WI is preferred
  • Knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, WisDOT, and local design guidelines and manuals
  • Experience with WisDOT/MnDOT highway construction
  • Experience with highway design
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with highway hydrologic and hydraulic design
  • Familiarity with GEOPAK or OpenRoads is a plus
