How your role fits into Boldt:

As a Director of Sustainability for Boldt, you will be an action-oriented leader, championing the
development and implementation of Boldt's sustainability and environmental stewardship strategy.
This role will build the capability of Boldt teams to implement our programs. The Director will be the
primary point of contact, both internally and externally, for all Boldt programs touching on sustainability
and environmental stewardship, including significant involvement in ISO policy compliance and Boldt's
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies.


Required Skills

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Boldt's sustainability and environmental stewardship strategy, including the carbon emissions lifecycle.
  • Refine and oversee the execution of Boldt's Environmental Management System working closely with other teams, such as Safety, Quality, Human Resources, Legal/Risk.
  • Identify existing and emerging market-driven initiatives for corporate and construction-related sustainability and develop programs to position Boldt as a leader in its sustainability and environmental stewardship programs within the design and construction industry.
  • Provide our clients expertise/knowledge to assist them to profitability develop, design, construct, and operate projects to achieve the highest level of sustainability, focused on reduced energy consumption, recycling, emissions reduction, and low carbon/net carbon neutral targets.
  • Ensure internal development of sustainability awareness, knowledge, and capabilities, to support delivery of sustainable development, design, and construction services in Boldt's operating groups and project geographies.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and hands-on support to pursuit and project delivery teams related to sustainability strategy, monitoring, and reporting as required.
  • Develop partnerships and networks that can be used to enhance Boldt's portfolio of sustainability service offerings to our clients.
  • Develop and implement a strategy around sustainable practices for Boldt as a corporate citizen.
  • Specifically measuring, reporting, and reducing construction waste, energy consumption, and carbon emissions, including Boldt facilities, construction equipment, fleet vehicles, and travel and transportation policies.
  • Develop and implement training programs and initiatives to promote sustainability awareness and education across the organization.
  • Enhance Boldt's brand and market image through the development and implementation of internal and external sustainability communications and marketing plans for the company that include community engagement, public speaking engagements, internal and external stakeholders, publications, and digital content as well as development & maintenance of reporting mechanisms.
  • Support response to applicable industry reporting and certification requirements focused on sustainability, including development and management of internal data collection and reporting
    efforts.


Required Experience

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental management, sustainability, engineering, architecture, construction management, or business.
  • 12 to 15 years of design, construction, real estate development or manufacturing experience, with 5 years of experience in sustainable design or construction.
  • Able to envision and communicate creative, cost-effective solutions to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively address challenges or gaps in sustainable construction.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship development skills with internal and external clients.
  • Strong customer service and solution provider abilities.
  • Strategic and creative thinker.
  • Excellent and persuasive communicator.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence effectively and implement organizational change.
  • Ability to be proactive and self-motivated and managing, and to oversee and manage companywide resources.
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship and the ability to motivate others to embrace a similar enthusiasm for sustainability initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States.

Physical requirements and working conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to optimally communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.

The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
