Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE day shift position. Shifts are primarily scheduled Monday - Friday, no weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Social Worker in Ophthalmology to:

  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support patient engagement and positive health outcomes.
  • Evaluate complex patient and family situations which have legal, ethical, and psychosocial components.
  • Network proactively with and demonstrate a working knowledge of community resources.
  • Engage patient/family in the treatment and decision-making process with respect to patient rights, principles of confidentiality, respect for patient privacy, and right to self-determination.

Education:

Minimum - Masters Degree in Social Work

Work Experience:

Preferred - Two (2) years prior hospital based social work experience

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Licensed in the State of Wisconsin with one of the following within 90 days of hire:

  • Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker (CAPSW)
  • Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

It will be located across from East Madison Hospital on Eastpark Dr. and is slated to open in fall 2024.
