Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, FTE 1.0, position. 1pm-9pm Monday - Friday, no weekends or on-call. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Pay:

  • External hires may be eligible for up to a $4000.00 sign on bonus.

Play an integral role in a patient's diagnosis at UW Health. You'll help bridge the gap between a tissue sample being taken and a diagnosis being made by a pathologist.

We are seeking a Histo Technician (HT or HTL) - Dermatopathology/Mohs to:

  • Prepare microscope slides that will assist pathologists in making a diagnosis.
  • Perform basic and complex testing.
  • Perform some advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate and prioritize workflow to ensure timely testing.

Education:

Minimum - Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include:

Education: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science

Work Experience:

Preferred - Previous laboratory experience

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum -

Preferred - Histotechnician/Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent
