Summary:
This position will play a significant role in the definition and implementation of the AI strategy, including architecture, design, and roadmaps. The successful candidate will perform work that is highly complex, varied in nature, and span multiple functional areas. The AI architect will serve as the technical expert in AI technologies and help govern the use of these tools. This individual will also contribute to the development of generative AI software development projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the efforts for ML/AI/Generative AI work with business and cross functional IT teams
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of the technology roadmap and implementation approach
- Provides first-level support to incidents that require the AI team's inclusion
- Evaluate, design, implement, and support new AI architecture and existing solutions
- Participation in project delivery work, including device configuration, planning, and vendor coordination.
- Document AI architectures, design decisions, and technical specifications for reference and knowledge sharing
- Promote best practices in AI through knowledge sharing and training sessions
- Participate in code review sessions and provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Proven track record (3-5 years) of designing and implementing large-scale enterprise solutions
- At least 2-3 years experience delivering AI-enabled solutions (Machine Learning, General AI, or Generative AI)
- At least 5-7 years proficiency in programming languages such as C# and Python
- At least 3-5 years experience with Microsoft Azure (OpenAI, Cosmos DB, API Manager, App Insights, Cognitive Search)
- At least 3-5 years experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Power BI)
- Experience with LLMs (GPT 3.5, GPT 4)
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills
- Good organization skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently while achieving deadlines and effectively communicating project status.
- Effective oral and written communication skills including technical documentation and training materials
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and improve processes.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with other departments to achieve business goals.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Senior IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
- The Principal IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of relevant job related experience.

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
