Charter Steel is hiring a Supply Chain Analyst II with a focus in transportation analytics.

This role will focus on validating data sources, building analysis from scratch, and telling compelling stories of how Charter Steel can improve its transportation operations. The Supply Chain Analyst II will work closely with transportation, customer service, finance, procurement, and other business stakeholders to improve areas of opportunity across Charter Steel and improve our customer's overall experience.

*This is a hybrid position with 2 days working onsite and 3 days working from home.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related degree.

  • Three plus years' supply chain analysis or related experience.

  • Capacity to understand and work with cross functional areas such as: Plant operations, Customer Service, Demand Planning, Scheduling, Logistics, Purchasing, and Accounting.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated skills in quantitative analysis and problem solving.

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in the advanced features of Microsoft Office software programs.

  • Ability to travel as needed, primarily between Charter locations.

What we'd prefer:

  • Experience leading and implementing process improvements using best practices.

  • APICS certification.

  • Experience working with ERP packages.

  • Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing experience.

What you'll do:

  • Collect, analyze, and report transportation data from various sources.
  • Utilize excel, salesforce, and Power BI to extract meaningful insights from large data sets.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing routine reporting on transportation performance.
  • Analyze and summarize carrier RFP results.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators to measure the performance of transportation operations and carrier performance.
  • Analyze critical drivers of logistics performance and identify prioritized actions.
  • Establish baselines and targets, measure results, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Create ways to automate tasks such as carrier claims and customer shipping instructions.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of the transportation group and reduce costs.
