Overview

Design, integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes. Maintain high levels of manufacturing and product quality processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency. Provide technical support to Sales and Production.

Responsibilities

1. Provide all necessary support to meet company safety goals and maintain a safe working environment for all Mid-States associates
2. Develop manufacturing processes with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
3. Review customer requirements and determine manufacturing process options. Provides input, reviews and many prepare shop manufacturing process information based on project plans and specifications.
4. Create and update visual aid, visual work instructions, customer part drawings, item master information, SRO'S and inspection sheets for anodizing.
5. Develop detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow.
6. Participate in the NPQP process as needed.
7. Lead and/or support special projects and assignment as required on internal technical projects for safety, quality, productivity, process improvement, plant, and equipment layout, etc.
8. Provide technical assistance to the operations. Collaborate with team leaders to manage projects including process improvements, process control, equipment maintenance/repairs and installation.
9. Utilizes project management tools and practices to meet timelines and budget requirements.
10. Improve and optimize processes to remain competitive.
11. Trouble shoot and resolve issues that prevent operations from running smoothly.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience and Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor's degree engineering, quality, or related field. 2 plus years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred.

Skills and Abilities
Possess organizational skills necessary for record keeping, follow through, etc. as well as ability to institute timely, innovative thinking and actions, often necessary when meeting company commitments.
Ability to read, create and interpret specifications.
Ability to interpret customer product and quality requirements. Use measurement equipment to measure and verify parts.
Working knowledge of personal computers, spread sheets, and word processing applications, including CADD a plus.
Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and individuals at various levels within and outside the organization.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations, advocating team concept and participative management style.
Possess good mechanical aptitude.
Ability to interpret customer product and quality requirements.
Ability to effectively apply and utilize Statistical Process Control techniques.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication, extrusion, and anodizing a plus.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Strong analytical thinker.
