Recruit, plan training programs and practices, fundraise, and supervise participants.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
2. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.
3. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.
4. Coaching Duties
* Advises club sport participants training and practice routines
* Recruit and retain clay target student-athletes
* Ensure safety and appropriate training of student-athletes around gun-safety
* Identifies competitions and travels with club sport team
* Provides guidance regarding club fundraising and purchasing
* Ensure students complete hunter education certification and SAFE Certifications
* Help grow and expand clay target sport
* Demonstrate communication and supervisory skills to ensure team rules/regulations regarding conduct and eligibility are clearly communicated and followed
* Model good sportsmanship behavior and conduct when advising club sport participants

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior participation in designated sport
Required Certification/Licenses:
  • CPR/AED
  • Coach Leadership and Safety Support (CLASS) Certification - complete upon hiring

This position reports to: Athletic Director

Stipend: $5,000
