We are looking for a Structural Engineer to work in a collaborative team environment in our downtown Milwaukee corporate headquarters office. Remote work opportunities may also be considered. Projects include a wide variety of parking structures for public and private clients, including stand-alone, underground, and mixed-use buildings. Design of new parking facilities include functional design, project management, structural engineering, and multi-discipline coordination. A portion of projects would be in the repair and restoration of existing parking facilities and other concrete structures. Every project brings a new puzzle that requires creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This position offers the opportunity to become part of a well-established parking and restoration group.

As a Structural Engineer at GRAEF, enjoy responsibilities that include:

  • Design systems of a complex nature with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to serve as a technical structural resource for others on a design team.
  • Lead the design of various new building and renovation projects.
  • Coordinate between multiple disciplines and attend project meetings with clients.
  • Mentoring less experienced staff.

We are considering Structural Engineer candidates to join our team who possess the following basic qualifications:

  • Master's degree in civil engineering with a Structural focus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in structural design and an interest in parking structures and restoration of existing buildings. Candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply.
  • EIT certified. Professional registration as a PE would be considered a plus.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software, the principals of reinforced concrete design, and REVIT. Experience in precast, prestressed concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and/or parking is considered a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently are crucial.
