Description/Job Summary
DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY
A Packer is responsible for fulfilling orders by arranging inventory in shipping containers and preparing them for shipment. Their duties include performing quality control assessments and stacking items safely and securely in the right packaging.
  • Starting Pay Rate: $15.00
  • 2pm to 10:30pm and 10pm to 6:30am
  • Monday through Friday - weekends off

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Responsible for packing quality product on his/her assigned production line.
  • Ability to read production sheets to ensure proper specs and counts for product being produced and packed.
  • Inspect product utilizing quality checks. Document product inspections and report concerns promptly to Extrusion Technician or Supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area, and reports any unsafe conditions to Extrusion Technician or Supervisor.
  • Assist on machine changeovers as directed by Extrusion Technician or Supervisor.
  • Remove finished product from production line and package neatly.
  • Be familiar with audit processes, machine boards, and check sheets.
  • Comply with all policies, safety/work rules, quality check system and other work-related procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Skills:
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Quality Control - Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Instructing - Teaching others how to do something.
  • Time Management - Managing one's own time and staying busy when there is down time.
REQUIRED Experience
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
