Job Title: Senior Content Strategist

Supervisor: Senior Director of Product Marketing

Department: Marketing

Salary Range: $75k - $95k base salary, based on qualifications and experience (Plus additional targeted bonus)

Job Summary:

The Senior Content Strategist is responsible for ensuring that marketing content and media deliverables support product and marketing objectives for sales pipeline and revenue generation. This role will engage closely with marketing, sales, and product management teams to understand marketing strategy, objectives, and go-to-market initiatives, and will partner with marketing stakeholder teams, external agencies, and other resources to develop a range of market-facing content, including (but not limited to) stand-alone pieces such as blogs, eBooks, and infographics, digital copy, press releases, presentation material, and media placements. The Senior Content Strategist will be responsible for creating content directly as well as for working with other internal and external content creators. In addition, the Senior Content strategist will be responsible for developing and maintaining a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of content marketing efforts in terms of overall pipeline and revenue generation, and for measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of content marketing efforts.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a detailed content strategy that aligns content marketing budget and resources with go-to-market objectives. Create and maintain a content development plan with clear deliverables, ownership and execution timelines, and be able to work with marketing leadership to identify and clear obstacles to plan execution.
  • Partner with digital, creative and marketing operations teams to identify content needs for lead and opportunity generation, spanning top of funnel strategies for interest and engagement through to bottom of funnel conversion and sales support.
  • Engage with the industries that TraceGains serves and develop a deep understanding of industry pressures, trends, and dynamics. Build a strong point of view on industry issues and the value narrative associated with TraceGains solutions and be prepared to act as an industry knowledge resource for internal stakeholder teams.
  • Conduct primary industry research such as customer interviews, engagement with industry knowledge resources, and customer/industry surveys. This may encompass both direct contact with industry resources as well as engagement with third-party agencies and media.
  • Design and implement a framework for continuously evaluating content performance, partnering with sales, marketing, and media stakeholders to measure content performance and drive resource allocation decisions in accordance with performance data.
  • Author content deliverables in alignment with overall marketing plans, with responsibility for deliverable quality and timing.
  • Engage with external resources as appropriate based on overall content strategy, including media/public relations, third-party content creation resources, and others. Work with marketing leadership to plan and manage third party spend and align with overall marketing budgets.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum five years of content marketing experience spanning a variety of content strategies.
  • Experience working within the food and beverage/CPG manufacturing industries in a marketing capacity or supporting F&B/CPG clients from a marketing agency perspective. Please note that restaurant experience is not applicable.
  • Clear understanding of lead generation and revenue funnel management strategies.
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills, including a working familiarity with AP style.
  • Experience working with third-party content resources including creative agencies, media, and PR firms.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI technologies and their potential role as a content creation tool.
  • Experience with measuring the performance of content and other marketing tools and using performance data to inform strategic resource allocations.
  • 10% travel required to customer sites and industry events.
