Here's your opportunity:

Under direction from the Product Engineering Manager, design new and special products and modify and improve existing product designs. Serve as a knowledge resource for CAD and other engineering tools.

Here's how you'll contribute:

  • Develops robust designs for new, special, or existing products that can be produced economically and according to established project timelines.
  • Collaborates with Product Management to develop product specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborates with Quality and Purchasing to establish appropriate quality metrics and PPAP requirements, and to select appropriate suppliers.
  • Prepares using 2D and 3D CAD software layouts and detailed drawings complete with calculated dimensions and tolerances.
  • Revises and alters detailed and layout drawings to conform to engineering changes.
  • Prepares submittals and processes special orders, as assigned.
  • Directs the construction and testing of prototype and pilot products, and conducts analysis of the test results.
  • Leads failure modes and effects analyses (FMEAs) and design reviews.
  • Leads complex, cross-functional projects with participants across multiple functional areas.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's (BS) degree in engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Seven years related experience.
  • Working knowledge of standard drafting practices, product structuring, 3D solid modeling, and sophisticated engineering analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design, casting design, stainless steel, engineering plastics, composites, and elastomers; and familiar with quality-related best practices a plus.
