Job Summary

The Enterprise Architect (EA) - Data & Analytics will lead and guide the evaluation and selection of enterprise architectures that align and drive current and future business needs across the enterprise. This role will lead with a data driven mindset while acting as an internal business consultant in the support of evolving Harley-Davidson data capabilities and services. This role will be responsible for setting standards around analytics, data modeling, data integration, data engineering best practices, data governance and data security design. This is a highly collaborative role and will provide direct guidance to functional teams and partner with Sr leadership to develop optimal data, data governance and analytic architectures. This role will lead the development of target state architecture for future data platforms, data architecture, data quality, and data integration. This role will lead the formulation of data and analytic capabilities, governance processes and technology roadmaps. This leader should possess strong problem anticipation and problem-solving abilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead & mentor the organization on enterprise architecture as well as data architecture and data governance.
  • Guide the extended architecture team through the publishing of data architecture principles, policies, and standards aligned to business and HDI Technology Strategy.
  • Govern architects and technical experts in the delivery of data architecture, analytics, and governance for strategic business transformations and programs.
  • Lead the adoption of strategic technologies across all IT stakeholders in support of strategic planning and innovation.
  • Research and consult with Senior GIS Leadership to align enterprise plans with strategic architecture direction.
  • Consult with senior HDI stakeholders and program management on planning of emerging enterprise shared services.
  • Simplify existing data architecture, establish frameworks for reusable data services and drive cost-reduction opportunities
  • Define and document domain strategies, target architectures, as well as innovation opportunities.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Experience Requirements

Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Broad technology knowledge of major line of business applications, micro-services, and cloud-based architectures and related platform vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting and influencing company-wide strategic architecture/technical/governance direction.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of architecture for business programs/projects. Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support of architecture best practices to all EA stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing architecture technology standards.
  • Strong analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal and able to effectively operate with executives, within a matrix organization, geographically distributed, and across different time zones.
  • Motivated by the desire to make a difference in the business, to work with a highly talented set of peers, and to work on interesting projects
  • Significant experience with Power BI and other Microsoft Analytics tools
  • Experience with data engineering tools and data modeling tools
  • Experience with entity-relationship modeling, metadata systems, and data quality tools and techniques

Preferred

  • Experience with EA Tools, enterprise architecture repositories, meta-modeling.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (Azure) and data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks)
  • Able to think strategically and make architectural decisions and recommendations in alignment with business needs
  • Able to assess traditional and modern data architecture components and overall solution design based on business needs
  • Experience with other business intelligence tools and technologies such as Alteryx and Tableau
  • Experience with Azure Data & Analytics PaaS Services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL DB. Certification preferred.
  • Certification or experience with enterprise architecture methodologies and frameworks, such as TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAF.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
