The Division of Center for Global Health, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking an experienced technician with experience in a wide array of laboratory techniques, including select agent and non-select agent BSL3 experience, virus handling, tissue culture, Q-PCR, ELISAs, western blots, and neutralizing antibody assays. In addition, a strong background or ability to conduct laboratory management duties, such as budgeting, safety and animal protocol writing, and ordering, are preferred.

The lab focuses on virus-host interactions, with an emphasis on vaccine development, immunology, and basic virology of emerging and re-emerging viral pathogens, as there are few treatments or vaccines available for many of these viruses. The lab studies a range of hantaviruses, paramyxoviruses, flaviviruses, alphaviruses, and arenaviruses.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 9 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
