Position Overview

Providing cancer patients access to clinically actionable diagnostics that transform treatment decisions and outcomes is part of Exact Sciences guiding principles. Successful market access outcomes are fundamental to the achievement of Exact Science's mission and requires a high level of commitment, eager to overcome challenges and pave the way.

The Senior Manager Market Access and Reimbursement will report directly to the Senior Director, Head of International Market Access and Reimbursement and will be mainly responsible for developing and implementing market access strategies across selected geographies outside of the US with a focus on the LATAM Region.

The place of work is Remote in the United States.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the development and execution of Market Access and Reimbursement plan and strategies to achieve and/or maintain successful reimbursement in the LATAM region as well as in other selected markets.
  • Lead the reimbursement submissions process to the HTA agencies as well as pricing negotiations in selected markets.
  • Secure broad access to Exact Sciences products at national and hospital level thanks to an impactful communication of value messages and well-tailored, innovative communication strategy.
  • Adapt and implement market access tools at a country level (health economic models, value story, other value tools).
  • Generate local data to strengthen value demonstration.
  • Become the single point of contact for all LATAM Market Access strategic initiatives, projects and activities at a country level in collaboration with stakeholders in other markets.
  • Provide expert reimbursement and access guidance to Distributors in selected international markets.
  • Support the efforts of the commercial teams (distributors and EXAS distributor commercial Manager) to secure private insurance coverage and support hospital-based contracts development processes as required.
  • Propose and lead evidence generation projects to further strengthen Exact Sciences products' value story.
  • Actively monitor and provide guidance on the pricing and reimbursement environment and policies for in vitro diagnostics and personalized medicine technologies in selected markets.
  • Identify and share market access learnings and best practices across countries and within the International Market Access and Reimbursement team.
  • Prioritize and communicate the country specific market access needs and ensure that they are well captured in the International Market Access and Reimbursement plan.
  • Provide strategic thinking into products lifecycle and Exact Sciences portfolio development.
  • Partner with trade associations to raise awareness of the challenges linked to patient access to innovative diagnostics, and to raise acceptance of value-based pricing principles with payors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree required in related field.
  • 6+ years of market access experience (pricing, health economics and/or market access positions) at country level in the LATAM region.
  • High degree of expertise in the LATAM reimbursement and health care systems as well as flexibility in adapting knowledge to other markets and geographies.
  • Solid track record in developing and executing Market Access strategies as well as successful reimbursement outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills both written and oral.
    • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with communication tools - PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Understanding of the Oncology disease area and Exact Sciences products.
  • Strong communication skills that will assist Exact Sciences communication efforts to its internal and outside audiences, including International reimbursement agencies.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, written and verbally. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Clear understanding of market related issues as well as local and global commercial strategies, priorities and needs in a growing company.
  • High energy individual that enjoys a fast pace and high risk/reward environment.
  • Ability to combine strategic vision with tactical hands-on execution and a high work capacity.

Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel 30% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
  • Right to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in health economics or related disciplines (e.g. MD, PharmD, PhD, MSc, MBA).
  • LATAM regional project and product ownership exposure is a plus.
  • Experience with diagnostics preferred.
  • Previous experience with Oncology products strongly preferred.
