Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs specialized Thermal Spray operations on a diversified line of parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that parts are properly prepared for the Thermal Coating processes including proper cleaning and handling.
  • Ensures that the part(s) have been properly masked. In some cases, masking, blasting or blending may be required.
  • Pulls required materials and tools to be used for Thermal Coatings. Operates equipment, tooling and materials for various applications (Pre-clean, stripping, blasting) with moderate to minimal guidance from Level 3 Technicians, or Engineering.
  • Works from and interprets complicated and involved sketches, routings, process control sheets and sample parts to understand dimensions and tolerances of finished work and sequence of operations.
  • Performs specialized Thermal Spray operations on a wide range of similar and dissimilar alloys using specialized equipment to apply coatings in a manual, semi-automated, or automated manner.
  • Fits and positions parts as required using jigs, fixtures, and robotic equipment.
  • Able to pass Level 2 written and practical proficiency tests to demonstrate knowledge and expertise of Thermal Spray processes.
  • Visually inspects all coatings; identifies potential quality issues and reports defects.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instruction requirements that govern Thermal Coating operations.
  • In coordination with Maintenance Department, performs preventive maintenance on Thermal Coating equipment.
  • Proceeds with moderate to minimal supervision.
  • Maintains production standards through efficient organization and planning.
  • Follows and complies with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation.
  • Meets attendance policy requirements.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a minimum of six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read English and understand sketches, routings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Requires ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Requires considerable initiative and decision making judgment.
