You will work on-site primarily at 1 South Park Clinic location with travel to University Hospital and the future East Madison Medical Center located in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Nursing Education Specialist or RN-Nursing Educator to:

• Facilitate and conduct the initial onboarding and continued professional development of ambulatory/clinic nursing staff with a focus on outpatient oncology care at 1 S. Park Clinic location, University Hospital Clinics, and the future East Madison Medical Center location.
  • Areas of pediatric and adult oncology clinic/ambulatory support include hematology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), infusion center, cancer lab, symptom management clinic, radiation oncology.
• Assist with curriculum and program development to support education for ambulatory nursing staff at UW Health. This will include collaboration across departments.
• Assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive educational programs.
• Participate in the promotion and delivery of new house wide initiatives.
• Complete assigned Nursing Education Specialist (NES) responsibilities based on needs of the department.

Education (Nurse Education Specialist):

Minimum - Master's Degree in Nursing

Preferred - Master's Degree in Nursing Education

Education (RN-Nurse Educator):

Minimum - Bachelor of Science - Nursing degree (BSN) AND must obtain Master's degree in Nursing in relevant specialty within five (5) years of start date in this position

Work Experience:

Minimum - Three (3) years of relevant clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting

Preferred -

• Three (3) years relevant clinical nursing experience with position specific patient population
• Three (3) years of experience providing orientation and education for nursing staff in clinical setting
• Relevant experience in primary and specialty clinic settings for NES candidates working in ambulatory areas

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact

Preferred -

• Certification in specialty area or the completion thereof within one (1) year of employment.
• Certification as a CPR instructor (Healthcare Provider course).
