Open to an RN or Non RN Partner

The System Analyst Clinical 1position supports and maintains software applications that impact clinical areas, such as ambulatory clinics, IP hospital depts., pharmacy, and physician documentation. This role provides analytical and application support in the areas of planning, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of clinical operations.
The Nursing System Analyst will work in a team environment, serving as an internal consultant to Mercy's Clinical Applications. The Nursing System Analyst will provide direct on-and-off site assistance to Mercy's Ambulatory and Inpatient practices, Homecare services and post-acute (transitional) settings in support of documentation and patient care activities when using information systems software applications. Electronic Medical Record support, implementation processes, needs assessment, implementation planning, training, go-live, optimization, and demonstration of meaningful use are some of the services provided by the Nurse System Analyst.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs application table maintenance as needed in support of requested changes. Updates and maintains required documentation and issues lists.
  • Support includes Phone support and routine business unit visits to discuss pending issues.
  • Participates in various operational meetings to analyze current procedures and workflows, identify problems, makes recommendations and determinations on which software functions and workflows to implement. Makes suggestions on how to most effectively utilize the software applications to improve production or workflow.
  • Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures as they relate to supported Software applications.
  • Assist in implementing upgrades, including testing of software applications.
  • Assist Educators in the development and delivery of training and documentation for new software releases.
  • Works as part of the clinical team to plan, test, and implement new functionality, integration among applications, and enhancements for the clinical applications.
  • Consults with Providers, Leadership, Physicians and other clinicians to identify problems and resolutions related to clinical software applications and functions.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or other related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
7 years of direct experience as a system analyst required.


Certification and Licensure

MT(ASCP), CT(ASCP), LPN, Pharmacy Tech or required or other similarly recognized certifications.


Skills and Abilities
Experience with and demonstrates competence in Microsoft Office Applications.
Ability to work independently and be result oriented.
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks and project components.
Ability to lead.
