As an Environmental Engineer you will provide leadership, direction and training that will ensure a safe and healthful workplace for the PPG associates while ensuring compliance with applicable environmental, safety and health laws and regulations to minimize current and future liabilities. Close interaction with all levels of the manufacturing, corporate EHS, technical and engineering organizations is required to ensure a consistent and unified EHS message.
Based onsite at our Oak Creek, Wisconsin plant, you will report to the site EHS Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG environmental regulations and policies.
Manage Clean Air Act (CAA) Title V Operating Permits, New Source Review, and/or Minor Source permits compliance; including emissions reporting and compliance documentation.
CAA Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards, including the Miscellaneous Organic Chemicals (MON) MACT and the Miscellaneous Coatings Manufacturing (MCM) MACT standards reporting and compliance documentation.
Managing the Clean Water Act (CWA) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) water permits (Industrial and Stormwater).
CWA Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan inspections and management.
Resource Recovery and Conservation Act (RCRA) and state-level Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal) for both Large and Small Quantity Generator(s).
Developing and maintaining emergency response and contingency plans.
Compliance with ISO14001 requirements.
Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA) Reporting (SARA 312 [Tier II] and SARA 313 (Toxic Release Inventory) and, driving continuous improvement of the environmental management process.
Actively participate in our facilities Emergency Response Teams (ERT).
Develop leading indicators that drive continuous improvement in sustainability metrics (energy, water, waste) and spill incidents.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field.
5+ years of experience with CAA, CWA, and EPCRA permits and reporting.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must possess the ability to make independent contributions, provide leadership and organizational ability, motivate change.
Problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with at all levels of the organization.
Must have a broad understanding of environmental, health and safety rules and regulations.
Work on-site at Oak Creek facility; Relocation available for eligible candidates.
