Work Schedule:

100% FTE, day shift. No weekends, no holidays. Hours are based off the operational needs of the department. We offer a competitive starting pay, relevant work experience will be considered. You will work at the University Hospital with a rotation to UW Health East Madison Hospital and Arbor Gate Clinic locations.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Procedure - Echo/Vascular Lab:

  • Join a small group of dedicated RNs who work closely with cardiology, cardiology fellows, and cardiac sonographers providing care to patients.
  • Provide care, including patient triage, procedure preparation, intra-procedure care, and post-procedure recovery phases.
  • Engage in acquiring new skills and participating on a procedural team that participates in utilizing cutting edge technology in the field of ultrasound.
  • Perform procedures that include: treadmill only stress testing, dobutamine and stress echo echocardiography, tilt tables and transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Work collaboratively with the sonography team to administer contrast enhancement to improve patient outcomes.
  • Join fellow nurses to work as a team and help one another succeed.
  • Support an environment that incorporates a patient and family focus into the procedural experience.

Education:

Preferred - Bachelor of Science - Nursing (BSN)

Work Experience:

Minimum -

  • Six (6) months of relevant clinical nursing experience
  • Specific to EP Lab- Previous moderate sedation experience

Preferred -

  • Additional years of relevant clinical nursing experience
  • Prior to involvement in clinical procedures in area of specialty, including successful work or involvement in other hospital-wide project work
  • Experience in an academic medical setting

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum -

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations
  • Basic Life Support/CPR
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire

Preferred - Certification in area of specialty
