ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Provide leadership and guidance to the manufacturing team in a continuous improvement environment.
Champion Continuous Improvement projects and provides leadership support in the development, implementation, and sustaining of process and cost improvement activities.
Provide guidance to the manufacturing team on the value of Lean Manufacturing methods and principles.
Provide leadership and training to insure a safe work environment. Implement and monitor 6-S programs to develop and maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
Ensure all personnel wear personal protective equipment at all times and that safety procedures are followed to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Serve as a key communications facilitator, coach and counselor for production workers.
Make appropriate work assignments among department personnel and monitor results.
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all equipment in the areas of responsibility.
Assure that quality and cost requirements are adhered to and that production requirements are met.
Interface closely with internal customers from a scheduling, parts availability and quality standpoint to assure a smooth flow of production.
Complete daily administrative responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Performs activities of workers supervised as needed.
Has working knowledge of and enforces appropriate quality policies and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree and 3 years of manufacturing leadership required.
