Senior Director of Human Resources

Position Summary:

The Senior Director of Human Resources (Sr. Director HR) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the human resource's function and driving strategic initiatives to support the organization's growth and objectives. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), and based in the Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee WI, the Sr. Director HR will lead a team of HR Leaders responsible for HR business partnership with Corporate, Commercial and Operational functions, while also serving as a critical member of the HR leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the CHRO and other senior leaders to develop and execute the HR strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to leaders on all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, talent management, organizational development, employee relations, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
  • Drive initiatives to foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and employee engagement throughout the organization.
  • Develop a team of HR Business partners who drive excellence in Talent Pipelines, Workforce Planning, Development, Succession, Culture and Engagement

Succession Planning and Leadership Development:

  • Influence process development (owned by Talent Management) and deliver methodology to business to identify and develop high-potential talent across the organization.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to HR Directors and other key HR leaders to support their professional growth and readiness for expanded roles.

Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management:

  • Lead organizational design and development efforts to ensure optimal structure, alignment, and efficiency across the organization.
  • Drive change management initiatives to support major organizational transformations, mergers and acquisitions, captain diligence process and integration management, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leaders to plan future workforces needs, assess organizational effectiveness and implement interventions to enhance performance and drive results.

Employee Relations and Compliance:

  • Lead the development of Employee Engagement and ensure the Rite Hite Culture remains a competitive advantage.
  • Oversee employee relations activities, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR Directors and managers on complex employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations and lead efforts to continuously monitor and mitigate HR-related risks.

HR Operations and Technology:

  • Partner with HR Operations teams to optimize HR processes, systems, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support initiatives to leverage data and analytics to inform HR strategies and decision-making and provide insights into workforce trends and opportunities.
  • Ensure an employee centric delivery of high-quality HR services and support to employees, managers, and leaders across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • This position is a feeder position to the CHRO role succession. The incumbent will have the potential and aspiration to grow to that level of the organization over time.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, or related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible HR leadership experience, with a focus on strategic HR management, organizational development, and talent management.
  • Experience working with, supporting, advising, and influencing senior leaders in the business, and demonstrated experience leading HR teams and driving transformative change in complex organizations.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align HR strategies with broader business goals and objectives.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future trends and proactively identify opportunities to drive business success.
  • Effective leadership, change management, communication and collaborative skills. Strong action orientation and drive for results.
  • Courage to express an opinion, provide constructive feedback, and challenge the status quo.
