Position Summary:
The Department of Criminal Justice & Social Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a Lecturer of Ethnic Studies with expertise in teaching about race/ethnicity. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated competency teaching multiple existing sociology and race/ethnicity courses. The typical teaching load is 5 courses per semester (5/5). The desired start date is August 2024.
Applicants should feel comfortable teaching courses that focus on intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and economic inequalities. Such courses in our catalog include Race, Gender, and Class in the United States, Sociology of Race & Ethnicity, Social Inequalities, The Native American Experience, Intro to Ethnic Studies, and Ethnicity, Race, & Crime.
This is a full-time, nine-month position with a starting wage of $38,000, commensurate with experience.

The Department of in the College of Liberal Arts and Education has 8 full-time tenure-track positions and regularly employs an additional 8-12 instructional academic staff. The undergraduate program offers a BA/BS in Criminal Justice, BS in Forensic Investigation, and a BA/BS in Political Science. The department also oversees multiple minors and certificates, including the Sociology, Criminology, and Ethnic Studies.
