Cut Fresh is a premier supplier of fresh cut produce in Wisconsin, looking to fill a full-time position for a bilingual (Spanish / English) Production Supervisor.  You will have the opportunity to join a team dedicated to providing our customers with products and services second to none in our industry. Position Description

The Production Supervisor will work throughout the production areas in their department as well as supervise material ordering for the scheduling of production in their department. Ideally, this person will have experience in the Fruit and Produce processing Industry. This is a 2nd shift position (4:00 pm - 1:00 am) Sunday through Friday (not every Sunday. Hours, start times, and end times may vary slightly based on production needs.)

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for coaching and directing hourly employees to meet production schedules.
  • Evaluates the performance of hourly employees and provides training as needed.
  • Directs production crew in accomplishing assigned work, while maintaining good manufacturing practices and HACCP program.
  • Works with crew to resolve production related problems/issues.
  • Monitor and train employees for adherence to company HACCP program.
  • Oversees the pre-operational setup and adjustments of equipment.
  • Participates in safety/environmental self-audits and visual checks, champions all safety activities for the department and helps to develop and meet plant safety goals.
  • Participates in the production scheduling process and provides input to establish headcount needs based upon volume requirements.
  • Monitors raw material needs and supply.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and enforces safety regulations.
  • Ensures adherence to product specifications throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Addresses employee relations issues promptly and effectively, issues corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintains department time and production records and ensures accuracy.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of employees supervised on an as-needed basis.
  • Follows other job-related instructions and performs other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
  • Tracks cost savings to meet objectives and develops or recommends future cost savings projects to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 Physical Demands:  
  • The employee is required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently.
  • The employee is subject to production environment approximately 90 percent of the work time.  (wet environment with temperatures < 45 degrees)
  • High noise levels from operating machines.
  • Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. 
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills: 
  • High school or equivalent required, Bachelor’s in Food Science preferred.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Bilingual –English/Spanish required.
  • Experience in the Fruit and Produce processing Industry preferred.
  • Must have strong and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software for department reporting and record keeping.
  • Must have a strong reasoning ability with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
