Lead the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of the community health team who work to improve health outcomes for persons within identified communities and populations. The manager will facilitate integration of services and programs, as appropriate, throughout both Children's Hospital of Wisconsin services and identified community partners. In addition, the manager will focus on building a strong team aligned with the principles and priorities of the communities and care coordination using the social determinants of health approach. The Community Engagement Program Manager will work closely in team building, creative problem-solving, relationship building, community engagement, and understanding the assets and challenges of the community to be served.

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, business administration, population health and health policy, health and human services, community health, or other closely related field.
  • Three years related experience with proven ability to build and maintain strong community programs or health organizations.
  • Three years supervisory experience.
  • Self-starter, motivated and able to work independently with demonstrated skills in team building and creative problem-solving.
  • A high level of communication skills (oral and written) necessary for assessment of health concerns and referral for appropriate service delivery. Ability to present and speak publicly.
  • Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Children's health care delivery system and the impact of other health care delivery systems on the community.
  • Experience in coalition building, community organizing, conflict resolution, community assessment and community health improvement processes, preferred.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively interact with health team members and consumers (e.g. members of the community).
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals in a spectrum of backgrounds, communities and industries.
  • May need to be available on evenings and weekends.
  • Physical ability to perform all assigned duties; able to stand and walk approximately 25% of the work time.

Demonstrated ability to gather and interpret program information and data. Strong computer skills.
