Summary:

The Commercial Manager is the expert for product lines with primary responsibility for developing and implementing strategies to optimize market share, sales growth, and profit. Existing product improvements, new product development, creating an environment to stimulate innovation are key responsibilities. In addition, the Commercial Manager will perform market management responsibilities on defined market segments. In this role the Commercial Manager will be the global market segment leader, looking for existing and future opportunities to employ our products and technologies.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Gather, analyze, communicate, and coordinate the implementation of necessary changes to address customer needs (VOC), industry/market needs, trends and opportunities and customer opportunities, for assigned product lines and market segments.

  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive product and/or market plan(s), updating regularly and communicating the vision to management for review and support.

  • Maintains and shares in-depth product knowledge and clear understanding of which individual product capabilities, functions and features are important and to which market segments. Applies thorough understanding of target market requirements to evaluate suitability of the product portfolio(s).

  • Coordinate activities on programs required to support multi-national customers and industries including sales activities, engineering activities, logistics activities and quotation and launching of major programs.

  • Manage a team of Product Managers who are responsible for product line(s) to achieve goals of product growth and profitability, using tools including; value engineering exercises, asset management (inventory, capacity, where made), new product introductions, product portfolio, promotion (PR, sales collateral, trade shows, trade associations, advertising) and target customer sales efforts.

  • Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand priorities, support our roadmap and implement product and service solutions.

  • Works closely with the appropriate sales and marketing teams, as well as engineering and manufacturing, to keep all informed on pertinent market and product activities and trends at key customers, including; current and future projects, new or modified product needs, competitive activity, real market pricing, technology and product trends.

  • Communicate strategic direction on key product and market responsibilities; channels to utilize, specific product requirements (features, benefits, costs, technical), desired brand and pricing.

  • Systematically monitor and track market share, segmentation, competitors, industry trends, results from initiatives, goals and objectives, sales, margins, and other key data and report as required by management. (e.g. SWOT analysis, top customer reports, market/product reports, third party industry and research reports, policy deployment, monthly management reports, sales forecast, and acquisition targets).

  • Drive change and continuous improvement to ensure long term health of the global product line.

  • Ensure coordination and transfer of technology across manufacturing plants and technical organization, world-wide, which produce assigned products.

  • Responsible for all commercial activities including pricing, quotations, terms and conditions of sale and delivery and lead time requirements.

  • Apply corporate policies governing the authorization and approval of contracts, quotations, and other commercial transactions.

  • Maintains efficient and secure processes related to documents, drawings, intellectual property, customer prototype product orders, product realization, cost estimates, quotes, customer contracts, and other commercial documents.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of related experience in manufacturing, required.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% as needed, domestically and internationally.

Pay transparency- Base $100,000-145,000 + 10% ICP (bonus)
