Reports to:Chief Financial Officer

Classification:Exempt

Remote:Hybrid, (50% remote)

Relocation: Nationwide relocation assistance is available

Summary: The Financial Controller provides oversight of Financial Accounting, Treasury, and support functions. This position is the primary overseer of all external financial audits, risk management program renewals, and treasury arrangements. They maintain financial closes and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting on a monthly basis.

Position Schedule:Hybrid work schedule (50% remote/working in the office every Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday).

Essential Functions:
Ensure timely and accurate publishing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that comply with GAAP, industry, and legislative guidance.
Establish and monitor an internal control framework over financial activities. Develop and document appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
Maintains responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the General Ledger of all entities utilizing reconciliations and reviews.
Support the CFO in designing and negotiating Property & Casualty insurance program and captive insurance. Manage relationship with brokers and underwriting community. Manage renewals and claims reporting.
Monitor cash position and prepare cash flow forecast. Manage debt covenant compliance. Support the CFO in designing and implementing hedging strategies. Manage complex accounting and treasury activities resulting from acquisitions.
Structure and maintain appropriate configuration of financial statements.
Lead transition of ERP systems and integration of various add-on products.
Oversees the year-end administration, reporting, and testing of 401(k) Savings and Retirement, Section 125, Federal & State Unemployment and Withholding, and coordinates related audits.


Required Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Accounting OR Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation.
12+ years of demonstrated experience in a high-level financial role handling complex responsibilities.
Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and reporting.
Extensive knowledge of information systems.
Demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate and manage internal relationships with all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Skilled in SAP, NetSuite, MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the Food or Manufacturing industry.
Experience leading systems implementations and integrations

Supervisory Responsibility: Accounting Manager and other support staff. Team of 10 employees.

Work Environment: The work environment is an office environment with standard temperatures and normal office noise levels.

Physical Demands: This position would be primarily sitting with little to no lifting or other physical demands.

Position Type: Exempt, 1st shift

Travel: 10-20% travel can be expected as necessary
