About the Legal team:

This internship is intended to provide the candidate with hands-on experience and exposure to the day-to-day activities of a highly skilled corporate legal and compliance team. The legal intern can expect exposure to the diverse subject areas covered by the corporate legal team, including corporate governance, employment, IP, commercial contracts, litigation and disputes, securities, regulatory, compliance and ethics.

How you'll contribute:

This position may include work in the following areas:

  • Legal research and analysis on a variety of legal and non-legal issues
  • Assist with developing and revising program documentation including policies, manuals, training materials and employee communications
  • Assist with corporate governance matters
  • Participate in Legal Department projects - determined on an as-needed basis
  • General tasks - assisting with contract management, preparing and organizing files, assistance with maintaining our various databases, running and reviewing reports, drafting, marking up documents, and other tasks, as needed
  • Contract review, interpretation and summarization
  • Preparation of presentations
  • Attend meetings

Responsibilities are subject to change based on NetScout's business requirements and the candidate's interests. Candidates are encouraged to indicate specific areas of interest when applying and throughout the internship.

Preferred Qualification/Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a J.D. program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Oracle, SharePoint, and/or Diligent (f/k/a Blueprint) a plus
  • Team player, ability to multitask, close attention to detail, and a willingness to work on a variety of matters
  • Ability to work independently once given direction
  • Excellent legal research, writing, communication and problem-solving skills
