Job Description Summary
The Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automated machinery and computer-controlled mechanical systems.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
  • Test and debug electrical components, PLC, and electronic circuits used for the control of machinery and equipment, as well as to design small electrical circuits.
  • Design, install and/or troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical components such as motors, VFD's, motion systems, and electrical connection parts such as relays, termination blocks and sensors.
  • Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including disconnecting devices, conduits, wiring, overload protection devices, power transmissions, chains, hydraulic/pneumatic/steam systems, vacuum pumps, electrical and mechanical motors.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Perform projects using PC & PLC programming.
  • Coordinate with equipment/service vendors for technical assistance
  • Use schematics or drawings, install electrical and electronic controls on machinery and equipment
  • Layout, assemble, install, test, repair, and adjust wire, panels, breakers, conduit, and other electrical fixtures, apparatus, and new services.
  • Maintain documentation and communicate updated documentation to manager and staff
  • Work from sketches or verbal instructions; interpret blueprints.
  • Create and complete essential maintenance work orders and other required paperwork.
  • Keep manager up to date on the status of all assigned projects, programming, work back log, on-going problems, and safety issues.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians as priorities dictate, time allows, or directed.
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance or process improvement & drive recommendations to implementation or resolution
  • Complete or assist with special projects as directed
  • Utilize the proper tools and testing equipment, perform maintenance, installation, replacement, and testing on electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside, noise, vibration, stairs/ladder climbing, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Education Desired: Technical Degree

Work Experience Required: At least 5 years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired

  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift
  • Ability to effectively work in teams
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively
  • Ability to read a tape measure/ruler
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to read electrical prints
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to operate various tools such as drill, saw, mill, grinder, and welder

Additional Job Requirements

  • Hourly rate is $42.50/hr.
  • Profit sharing bonus
  • Must be able to work 1st shift - Monday thru Friday
  • Must be able to work holidays - paid double time plus 8 hours holiday pay
