  • Administratively reporting to the Cardiology Manager, and under the medical direction of the cardiologist and established procedures.
  • Assisting the cardiologist performs invasive cardiac catheterizations and electrophysiology studies using ionizing radiation.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and techniques in cardiology through appropriate technical journals or in-service and educational programs in order to enhance expertise.
  • Work requires extensive technical training; normally acquired through completion of an AMA approved two year program in Radiologic Technology, and six months related training in special procedures.
  • Between six months to a year of on-the-job training experience is necessary in order to understand and function in the technical aspects of all pediatric angiography procedures and cardiac diagnostic studies.
