Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Main responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned, per business needs):
  • Makes mechanical repairs or adjustments to many different types of equipment throughout GW facilities
  • Participates in construction projects
  • Makes repairs to facility infrastructure (i.e. plumbing, process piping, structural members, HVAC equipment, and some process equipment)
  • Performs welding and fabrication for various production and non-production projects.
  • Keeps work area clean and in order
  • Follows all company safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager/supervisor
  • Willing to work in hot, dusty environment (foundry)
  • Willing to work a shift starting at 4am.
  • Some outdoor work required in hot or cold conditions
  • Valid VA driver's license is required

Education /Training

  • What education and education level are necessary for the position? How many years of professional experience in a specific professional area are required for the position?
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior industrial maintenance experience required

Qualifications/Experience

  • What qualifies an individual to fulfill this position?
  • Tear down, troubleshoot and repair various mechanical assemblies
  • Construction skills including: Carpentry and Plumbing
  • Ability to perform general welding (GMAW, SMAW) and fabrication
  • Fundamental machining skills desirable
  • Proven math skills, reading skills, and computer skills. Ability to receive and execute written or verbal instructions
  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance purposes.
  • Understanding of general industrial safety principles
  • Expected to supply own basic hand tools

Certificates / Licenses / Registrations / Competencies

Degree or certificate in a maintenance field is highly desirable.
