100% FTE, 40 hours/week. 8-hour day shifts scheduled Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Occasional weekend rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of department

We are seeking an Acute and Critical Care Occupational Therapy Fellow to:

  • Become well versed in acute care occupational therapy with advanced clinical skills for evaluation, assessment, and treatment of various diagnoses in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist in appropriate discharge planning and goal setting for patients and families as a trusted advocate as they progress through their hospital stay.
  • Participate in didactic learning modules to further growth and knowledge in a specialized setting.
  • Challenge their own and other staff member's clinical decision making through constructive feedback in didactic units and case presentations to advance the role of occupational therapy in acute care.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to carry out evidence-based treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes for patients.
  • Receive and modify practice patterns based on constructive feedback from mentors.

Education:

Minimum -

  • Graduate of an accredited, entry-level degree program (Baccalaureate or higher) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Credentialed by National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapists (NBCOT).
  • Must obtain NPI number prior to starting the fellowship program.

Work Experience:

Preferred - One (1) year of prior relevant experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Wisconsin. Basic Life Support (BLS) within three months of hire.
