Georgia-Pacific Consumer Operations LLC is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated and experienced Director of Product Development for our Tissue Branded Business. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team in the Research & Development department, driving innovation, product strategy, roadmaps, and growth through new product development in our Quilted Northern, Angel Soft, customer branded tissue product lines and Dixie. Your focus will be to build trusted relationships, facilitate career development, and connect your team to our collective vision. This role is pivotal in driving our teams towards achieving our business goals while enhancing our Principle Based Management culture. This position is located at the Neenah (WI) Technical Center.

Our Team

The Georgia-Pacific Retail Tissue, Towel and Napkin (TTN) and Dixie Product Development Team leads the strategic long-term product and technology innovation road mapping across the Retail TTN product lines. We do so in collaboration with our business, market insights, operations partners and with a focus on connecting consumer perception to technical and measurable attributes of our products. What You Will Do

  • Improve our R&D organizational performance by continually developing subject matter expertise in others, coaching/educating our technical community while enhancing our Principled Based Management culture.
  • Lead and manage a team of product developers that work on both near term and long-term complex projects that require an experimental mindset and technology advancement to realize long term value.
  • Drive the development of new products and improvements to existing products.
  • Oversee the execution of product development projects from concept to launch.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product development aligns with business strategies and goals. Provide clear and concise technical point of view on innovation pathways to our business leaders, operations, manufacturing, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Create long-term product roadmaps based on understanding of technical capabilities, consumer/customer unmet needs and market trends in collaboration with internal business partners.
  • Collaborate on and enhance Intellectual Property strategies that include landscape investigation, IP renewal strategies, the creation of invention disclosures and patent applications by partnering with the Legal team.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards in product development. Ensure a strong team aligned with our guiding principles.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in Research & Development within the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience supervising a product development team overseeing near-term and long-term projects.
  • Experience in driving development of new products and improving existing products.
  • Experience analyzing market dynamics and customer needs to guide research initiatives and product development strategies
  • Experience managing budgets, timeline, resources to ensure successful project completion.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Science
  • Experience building product strategy and innovation pipelines.
  • IP development/strategy experience
  • Competitive intelligence experience
  • Paper science, tissue industry or consumer product development experience
