The User Interface Engineering team part of the newly formed Application Networking and Security Division at Broadcom is looking for a best-in-class, Architect level, full-stack Engineer, who shares our real passion for innovating and crafting the best customer, user experience.

A Principal Engineer is a technical leading individual at Broadcom and in our team. In this role, you will be driving the technical architecture discussions, decisions, planning, executing, and provisioning for UX/UI engineering initiatives that will bring out the best possible experience our customers and users may have from Application Networking and Security solution portfolio (formerly VMware NSX Security).

As a technical lead, you will need to have working knowledge of user interface engineering, user-centered design, and cloud-based application architectures. You will need to be an expert in browser technologies and a strong sense of pixel-perfect design appreciation. You will apply all these expertise and real passion for UI engineering to guide design processes, to own the delivery of the user interface for the best-in-class network visibility and analytics platform.

• Drive in the design, development, document of client-side architecture initiatives and product feature development life cycles

• Drive the process of developing user models, prototyping and crafting user interfaces

• Build simple-to-use interfaces for a complex Network & Security solutions

• Adapt and apply new technologies, best design practices and usability patterns

• Collaborate with UX Designers, Product Managers, Technical Architects, and cross-functional Engineering teams to optimize the designs in order to delight our users

• Strongly disciplined in delivering high quality product

• Lead team through solving customer reported problems, ensuring resolutions meet service level agreements

• Advocate for usability and quality of our products

• Be an innovator and coach, mentor others to innovate

• Have solid background in OOP, modern browser-based UI for cloud-scale applications

• Possess expert level in UI design and public API design for large scale software system

• Strong sense of product usability, as user advocate

• Strong organization and task management skills

• Have previous successes with leading projects that involves dozens of people from multiple cross-functional teams

• Able to quickly identify risks, recommend avoidances, and handle known risks

• Excellent in verbal and written communication skills

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related fields and 12 + years of related experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $126,000 - $210,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
