The School District of Beloit is seeking a Literacy Instructional Coach for Converse Elementary School. The Literacy Instructional Coach serves as part of the building Leadership Team and is responsible for bringing evidence-based foundational literacy skills, instructional and coaching practices into the classroom by working with and supporting teachers and administration to support the goals of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity. This is a full time that is a 200 day contract. WI DPI license #5017 is required. Candidate should be passionate about preparing elementary school age students to be successful in the future. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Supports and provides teachers with instructional strategies that include: in-class, studentcentered coaching; observing; modeling instructional strategies; and guiding teachers in the analysis of student work. Guides teachers' on writing strategic lesson plans based on students' needs that supports data analysis, the integration of technology, as well as encourages collaboration and co-planning with teachers. Promotes digital literacy through instructional strategies.
2. Serves as an instructional leader of the building ensuring the adherence to rigorous and relevant academic standards across content areas, assists with the development and facilitation of school improvement plan and monitors.
3. Assists the instructional leadership team and instructional staff in designing and delivering culturally responsive professional development learning opportunities for teachers. Provides staff with evidence-based strategies and best practices to meet and improve student equity and achievement.
4. Monitors and analyzes students' summative, interim, and formative achievement data to assist individual teachers and PLC's. Recommends and manages data-based teaching strategies and data-based student interventions to the building MLSS Data Team.
5. Models the use of technology as an enhancement to student and staff learning.
6. Assists in collaborative development and district-wide diagnostic and benchmark assessments.
7. Establish and maintain confidential relationships with teachers.
8. Collaborates with Instructional Coaches and Building Leadership Team.
9. Identifies and provides reading intervention(s) as needed.
10. Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in education
- Reading Specialist License 5017
Preferred Qualification
- 3-5 years teaching experience, with a demonstrated record of impacting student achievement.
Working Conditions
Uses keyboard, mouse, or other alternative input device. Converses and is understood verbally and in written form. Works in a stationary position for up to four hours at a time. Organizes and prioritizes own work as well as the work of others, often multitasking. Frequently works long and irregular hours. Regularly operates a motor vehicle to attend meetings in various locations. Makes presentations, both formal and informal.
