Responsible for implementation of the CHHS Infection Prevention and Control Plan, conducts surveillance for all patients and services at CHHS, and maintains infection prevention policies and procedures. Works in close collaboration with the Medical Director of Infection Control. Assures that infection control activities meet the needs of patients, visitors, staff and regulatory agencies. Reports to the Director of Safety.

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field, including nursing, medical laboratory technology, and/or public health.

  • Becomes an APIC national and local chapter member within one year of hire.

  • Infection Control Certification required within four years of hire.

  • Three or more years of infection prevention or related hospital/healthcare experience. Pediatric experience is preferred.

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience working with a clinical database required.

  • Independent judgment and analytical ability to problem solve, make decisions, formulate reports, perform statistical analysis and interpret data.

  • Strong prioritization and time management skills are required.
