Position Description

Formulates strategy and sets direction for compensation and benefits programs that are consistent with business goals while enhancing the company's ability to attract, develop and retain the best talent and position the company as an employer of choice. Partners closely with business and HR leaders to develop effective and sustainable processes and programs.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develops strategic plans and annual operating goals for global compensation, benefits and HR Systems
  2. Works closely with the Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Secretary in preparing analyses and coordinating materials for presentation to the Compensation Committee and the Board of Directors
  3. Monitors performance against approved strategies and goals; analyzes and reports performance utilizing trend analysis and experience data
  4. Ensures effective delivery of managerial information and training to drive compliance regarding compensation and benefit programs
  5. Supports labor contract negotiations and participates in the collective bargaining process as needed; provide cost and design recommendations and comply with union requests for information
  6. Represents the company in industry associations and other similar professional groups; manage selection, budgeting and participation in surveys to review and preserve the company's competitive stance in industry
  7. Directs the work of groups of employees (leads through managers). Performs full range of managerial responsibilities and/or oversight of multiple departments which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
  8. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of compensation and benefits field, related laws, rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated success in exercising fact-based decision making
  • Outstanding communication and interpretation skills including but not limited to negotiation, influencing and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to lead various groups
  • Results driven leader, acts with sense of urgency
  • Strong technical, managerial and team building skills with the ability to balance tactical and strategic responsibilities
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum ten years of related professional experience with a minimum of five years of leadership and management experience in a large, complex organization
Physical & Environmental Requirements
May require some travel of a scheduled or urgent nature.
