Responsibilities

1. Work closely with Product Engineers (Mechanical & Electrical) to assist on the following activities:
o Benchmarking of advanced products (such as cell phones, displays, wireless devices, luxury gadgets, etc.): order parts, conduct initial tests, research, collect data, summarize data, recommend and implement action items

o Benchmarking of competitor products (switchgear parts, keyfobs, modules, etc.)
o Products trouble shooting of failures/testing

o Light analysis/measurements of illuminated products

o Social media benchmarking of automotive and other industries products (Instagram, Google, TikTok, etc.)
o Product Validation Testing (advanced and current)
o Review and update components, customers and STRATTEC engineering specifications
o Products special builds (hands-on build of finished product and prototypes)


2. Assist in Advanced Research & Development Projects (ADP = new product concepts and new technologies)

3. Perform engineering / design calculations using knowledge learned in college courses


4. Special projects and engineering tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications


The following are required education/skills/abilities:


1. College Junior or Senior pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
2. Good organization skills
3. Good oral and written skills
4. Proficient computer skills (Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Word, Adobe PDF)
5. Ability to perform hand on benchmarking teardowns and assembly/disassembly of multiple parts, multiple hands-on tasks required

6. Constantly proactive

The following are preferred education/skills/abilities:

1. Junior or Senior college year preferred
2. Experience in designing/building/analysis of mechatronic devices
3. CAD experience in CREO, UG NX and/or Solidworks is a plus
4. 3D Scan Software experience is a plus

5. Experience with 3D printing/Rapid Prototypes technologies is a plus

6. Spanish and/or Chinese language proficiency is a plus
