Job Description

Pillar Health is looking for an experienced, full-time Family Practice Physician Assistant.

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the mid-level provider is complex in the evaluation and treatment of emergent as well as routine health care needs of the clinic, and as such is not limited to the specific role as described below. Provides health care services to patients within the guidelines set forth in Wisconsin State Medical Board. The collaborative physician direction and supervision of the Physician Assistant and responsibility for review of practices are essential in the guidelines.

PRIMARY TASKS AND DUTIES

* Comply with regulations as set forth by Wisconsin State Medical Board for licensing, with appropriate DEA and National Certification requirements or comply with all requirements set for by the State of Wisconsin as outlined in Chapter 8.07 Physician Assistant Practice Scope and Limitations.

* Meet all continued education requirements in a timely manner.

* CPR certification

* Prescribe, Order, Administer, and Dispense Medication per the Chapter 8 Physician Assistants, section 8.08 Prescribing Limitations.

* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as are appropriate for role of pharmacist, and provider expectations.

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

* Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.

* Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as but not limited to x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal.

* Performs therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.

* Develops and implements patient documentation such as management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provisions of continuity of care.

* Instructs and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimen, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.

* As may be necessary in communication and documentation of charts and data.

* Comply with Physician Assistant Collaborative agreement requirements and guidelines for physician assistance prescriptive practice..

* Good communication and interpersonal skills.

* Thorough knowledge about the various medical processes and procedures

* Strong Computer skills including Word, Excel and Power Point

POSTION REQUIREMENTS

Education

* Master's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies

* Two years of experience recommended but not required.

* Must be licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin, have a valid DEA certificate, and a current CPR certification. Board certification preferred, board eligible required. Ability to speak Spanish preferred. Also, current on OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.

* BLS certified

Physical/Environmental

* Sitting greater than 50% of the time

* Walking and standing less than 50% of the time

* Occasional bending and lifting

WORK SCHEDULE

Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours during clinic operating hours, typically Monday - Thursday, 7am - 7pm, Friday, 7am - 5pm and rotating Saturdays 7am - 3pm.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
