IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Sustainability and Energy Consultant. As a Sustainability and Energy Consultant you will be responsible for providing expertise and leadership for sustainable design practice across the company. You will represent the company externally as a face of company sustainability as well as provide guidance to IMEG team members to meet the technical engineering needs for their projects.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Conduct building performance analyses on IMEG projects.

  • Consult with clients on strategies to decarbonize and optimize their projects.

  • Support projects seeking building certifications which includes but is not limited to energy modeling, documentation, and lead administration for entire project team.

  • Actively lead sustainable design projects and assist management of team workload.

  • Serve as a technical resource for resolving issues on projects, with very little assistance from senior staff.

  • Make major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff.

  • Actively participates in quality control process for Team projects.

  • Contribute to leadership in some aspect of our Technical Operations Team internal technical development for both large and small projects.

  • Develop technical analysis report and presentation deliverables and present to internal and external audiences.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Energy modeling and analysis of all building types.

  • CFD and daylighting analysis.

  • Life Cycle Cost analyses.

  • Whole building life-cycle assessments.

  • Knowledge and implementation experience of national and local energy conservation codes and local laws.

  • Knowledge of federal and regional tax rebate and incentive programs.

  • Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.

  • Knowledge of operational and embodied carbon.

  • Demonstrated aptitude to design/manage major large projects, and often multiple projects concurrently.

  • Building systems design experience.

  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others.

  • Custom programming/tool generation.

  • Post occupancy energy evaluation and measurement and verification.

  • Working knowledge of BIM programs.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerBI, and Outlook.

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Architectural, or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of applicable experience

  • Experience working with Energy Modeling software, i.e., DesignBuilder, IESve, Trane TRACE, OpenStudio, EnergyPlus or covecove.tool.

  • BEMP, BEAP, LEED AP, WELL AP, CPHC, and/or GGP certification preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with any of the following software packages: LightStanza, One Click LCA, Homer
