The School District of Beloit is seeking an Academic Interventionist for Fruzen Middle School. This is a full time/permanent position based on a 192 day contract (prorated for 2023-2024). WI DPI license #5017 is required. Candidate should be passionate about preparing students to be successful in the future. Candidate will join a strong, dynamic team of dedicated professional educators focused on continuous improvement. Minority and bilingual speaking candidates are encouraged to apply. Description:
The Academic Interventionist is responsible for supporting student achievement in the area of Literacy and Mathematics with special attention to Tier II and Tier III instruction as determined by the Student Intervention Team. The Interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.

Duties and responsibilities
Providing high-quality literacy and mathematics instruction to individual students and small groups.
Using data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level.
Collaborating with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students.
Using identified research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student needs.
Maintaining data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress.
Participating in meetings and providing data to school teams of teachers, administration, and families about student progress and making decisions about student placement.
Communicating with teachers, administration, and families regarding student progress.
Assisting with identifying students for placement in intervention groups.
Providing diagnostic assessments for students as needed.
Providing input for program development.
Supporting implementation of assessment tools and data management systems.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in elementary education.
Wisconsin teaching certificate.
Minimum 5 years' experience teaching, with a record of successfully impacting student achievement and working successfully with students who have the greatest needs.


Preferred Qualifications

Reading specialist certification preferred, License 1316 / 5017

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
This position requires a dynamic teacher with the ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide students with a rigorous and high-quality learning experience.
Prior experience with small group interventions in the area of literacy and/or mathematics
The ability to use data to drive instructional decisions and collaborate with colleagues is an essential skill for this position.

Physical requirements
Must be able to walk, climb stairs and/or move about the building as needed. This may require the incumbent to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects as needed, do repetitive tasks.
