We Are Hiring:GI Tech - Part Time .6 FTE (Days) Waukesha and Oconomowoc

Schedule Details:24 hours per week 4-6 hour shifts, with call and holiday rotation. 30-minute call response time is required from both Waukesha and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospitals.

What You Will Do:

A GI Tech performsvaried duties as an integral endoscopic team member under the direction of the RN and Physician. This technician participates in the full spectrum of endoscopic, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, and plans, organizes and prepares for the technical needs of the endoscopic procedure.

You Will:

Uses complex endoscopy equipment.

Competence of infection control standards regarding cleaning and high level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories.
Performs initial endoscope cleaning process, manual cleaning process and high level disinfection.
Prepares and sets up procedure rooms with all required equipment for procedures.

Follows infection control and cleaning and disinfection policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.

Maintains excellent communication with physician and RN during procedures.

Understands and demonstrates knowledge and competency in using endoscopy equipment and identifies functional safety needs in regards to the equipment.

Takes responsibility for inventory control of supplies and endoscopic accessories.

Maintains appropriate levels of supplies in each endoscopy procedure room.

Assists in maintaining compliance with Joint Commission accreditation and other regulatory bodies.

Provides patient information regarding procedures.

Anticipates equipment/supply needs of the physician during procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS), or ability to obtain upon hire (can obtain during orientation with ProHealth Care)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Operating Room Technician from accredited school preferred.
