Required Education and/or Experience:
Some college experience;
Must be enrolled in or have successfully completed TCED 4200 - The Science of Teaching and Learning in STEM Courses.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
They must have successfully completed qualifying STEM courses for which they are applying to be Learning Assistants unless otherwise approved by the course instructor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist course instructors in designing evidence-based teaching practices for the course instructor's classes;
Assist course instructors in implementing evidence-based teaching practices in the course instructor's class (either in class or in workshop or in lab);
Meet with the course instructor at least once a week to provide feedback and plan for the next week's tasks;
Guide students in the course instructor's class as they learn course material.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
Ability to creatively solve problems;
Ability to work as part of a team;
Ability to receive, apply, and provide constructive feedback.
