Position Description:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. The Department of Surgery - Trauma and Acute Care Surgery is seeking a clinically strong and competent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in emergency general surgery, critical decision making and ability to assess, diagnose and treat patients in an inpatient setting located in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital. This Division is primarily responsible for the trauma program and surgical critical care service. Our Trauma Center excels in the care of patients with injuries, complex wounds, surgical infections and patients requiring surgical critical care. We provide all emergency surgical coverage to the emergency department. All faculty have their general surgery boards with added qualifications in critical care from the American Board of Surgery. The APP will have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and ensure an environment of safe quality care. Preferred Schedule:
Full-time opportunity with coverage expectations for both weekday and weekend/holiday rotational coverage.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education: Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing Minimum Requirements: *or eligible Advanced Practice Nurse Physician Assistant AHA BCLS, AHA ACLS, DEA, ATLS (will train) and CITI Certification to be completed within 90 days of hire.
Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies
Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
Wisconsin RN License Certification by NCCPA
Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
Acute Care Certification
Preferred Experience:
Previous APP acute care experience preferred
