Are you ready to scrub in and help lead our cutting edge Transplant/Vascular Surgical Tech team to new heights?

Functions as a Surgical Technician Team Lead with demonstrated competencies, advanced procedure and technical knowledge in the care of patients in a specific surgical specialty.

In addition you will:

  • Understand and satisfy the supply and equipment needs of the neonatal, infant, toddler, pre-school, school-age, adolescent and/or adult patient.

  • Case Management: Identify needs and assists the clinician in coordinating activities to resolve issues or improve care of the patients within a surgical specialty in the Operating room. Make recommendations and be involved in procedural or equipment modifications; support systems to implement changes.

  • Teaching: Assist with the orientation for the Urology specialty. In collaboration with the education specialists and clinicians, provides input into the orientation plan for the scrub role.

  • Consultation/Collaboration: Serves as consultant to staff and physicians; assists with the development of new and advanced skills that are required to support the procedures within a specialty.

  • Administrative Responsibilities: Assists in setting expected scrub standards of performance within Urology; contributes to the evaluation of new and existing staff regarding competencies and performance. Participates in orientation of staff to Urology

What is required?

  • Two years of operating room or special procedures experience which includes 1-2 years clinical experience related to the specialty.

  • CST certification required or must be completed within 1 year of hire.

  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.

  • Analytical skills necessary to resolve complex problems, assist with the development of standards of care and procedures, and evaluate the quality of care.

  • An understanding of CHW health care delivery system and the impact of other health care delivery systems on the patient and family.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with interdisciplinary health team members, other CHW departments, and consumers.

  • Ability to rotate shifts and/or work flexible hours to meet patient care needs; call is required.

  • Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, over 80% of the assigned work period, as well as lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds.

Four 10 hour days: 6:50am-5:20pm.
