The Stevens Point Area Public School District is seeking substitutes for our child care program, located in Kennedy Elementary School. When a substitute is needed, the Kennedy office staff will give you a call to see if you're available to work. Prior experience is preferred, but not required. we will work with you to obtain the appropriate training necessary for compliance with the Department of Children and Families. Some of the functions that you may do while subbing are: *Assist the Lead Care Provider or the Assistant Care Provider. *Ensure the safety of children at all times. *Engage children in play and early learning activities. *Organize and maintain a safe, engaging and fun environment. *Monitor children to ensure that they play and interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner. *Clean interactive areas throughout the day. *Assists parents with questions and requests. *Communicate appropriately and professionally with staff, children and families. *Assumes other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will: *Have a passion for working with preschool children ages 3-5 years. *Have a warm and friendly personality and be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others. *Ability to manage potentially challenging behavior. *Ability to keep information confidential. *Ability to problem-solve and make rational judgments. *Ability to remain professional and courteous. *Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
