Job Summary:

Under the direction of the HIS Director, Client Support, answers all telephone calls made to the main hospital telephone number in an expeditious, cheerful and pleasant manner at all times.

• If workstation is located at the lobby, answer all overflow telephone calls made to the main hospital telephone number in the same manner as working in the Telephone Communication Console Room.
• Operates and assists with other related equipment in the Telephone Communications Console Room and/or at the Lobby Information Desks.
• Provides information for patients and visitors.

• 2 years previous experience as a telephone switchboard operator preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent required
• Good interpersonal/communications skills.
• Some computer knowledge
