General Overview: As a Value Stream Manager, this role will be responsible for directing and overseeing all of the value-added activities in the production assembly and manufacturing processes with an emphasis on the technical aspects of the process. This candidate must be strong in time management, creative thinking, achieve departmental KPIs, and be adaptable when new projects and priorities are provided.

Responsibilities and Duties Include and Not Limited to:

  • Create current state and future state value stream maps in order to develop and manage a plan to arrive at the future state.
  • Maintain conformance with company rules and regulations
  • Provide an adequate work force ensuring all employees are properly trained for their position in order to meet or exceed customer needs
  • Align with the Health Safety and Environmental Manager to provide a safe work environment and ensure compliance with city, state and federal regulations regarding environmental, OSHA and workers' compensation
  • Responsible for performance to company and operational goals in the areas of 6S, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Cost
  • Develop and manage performance to departmental budgets
  • Identify and reduce value stream waste, improve quality, productivity and reduce lead times in a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Write ECR's, quality alerts and updates to work instructions as required to support value stream operations
  • Troubleshoot 100% of all line down part quality and process quality issues in collaboration with appropriate resources and expedite repairs as required with identification of root cause and countermeasures to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Ensure adherence to run rates

Additional Responsibilities: Manage and mentor supervisors, leads and direct hourly employees in the manufacture of company products. Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and recommending change status as appropriate for all value stream resources. Work with value stream resources to develop goals and objectives as well as career development plans.

Required Skills: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Business Operations with a minimum of seven years leading and supervising LEAN manufacturing activities within an organization required. Experience working in union environment preferred. CPIM and 6-sigma certification desirable.
